I was reading a bit about American History and came across an interesting fact; only 18% of the population at the time of our revolution was in favor of gaining our independence from England. Isn’t that something to consider? A few determined men and women, united in a common cause, birthed one of the greatest nations that has ever been on the face of the earth. Many suffered extreme hardship including the loss of holdings and family, and even death because they signed their names to the Declaration of Independence. Many people do not realize that some of these men had their families sold into slavery by the British because of their valiant stand, yet they withstood these trials until the fledgling nation became victorious.

If there is one of you that does not believe that we were a nation founded under God, (and I might add by His Divine influence), Please read the following excerpt from the instructions drafted for the delegates (Congressmen) to the provincial congress from Mecklenburg County, North Carolina on September 1, 1775:

#13. “You are instructed to assert and consent to the establishment of the Christian religion as contained in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments and more briefly comprised in the Thirty-nine articles of the Church of England, excluding the 37th Article, together with all the articles excepted, and not to be imposed on dissenters, by the act of Toleration and clearly held forth in the confession of faith compiled by the Assembly of Divines at Westminster, to be the religion of the state, to the utter exclusion forever of all and every other (falsely so-called) religion, whether pagan or papal; and that the full, free, and peaceable enjoyment thereof be secured to all and every constituent member of the state as their inalienable right as freemen without the imposition of rites and ceremonies, whether claiming civil or ecclesiastic power for their source; and that a confession and profession of the religion so established shall be necessary in qualifying any person for public trust in the state. If this should not be confirmed, protest and remonstrate.”

Because we as Christians have not stood up for our faith as diligently as we should have over the last few years, we have seen over 50 million children murdered through abortion; sodomy ruled legal by the Supreme Court of the land based on French law, and soon we will see legislation passed that mirrors the Canadian law that prohibits the preaching of the first chapter of Paul’s letter to the Romans. Verses 26 –32 (“For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.”)

Now is the time to take a stand against those that would strip us of our freedoms. First of all we need to pray corporately; secondly we need to act: Become angry (but do not sin!)! Develop a passion for the things of God before it is too late! Write your congressmen and women and let them know that you will not stand for any legislation that opposes Christian principles. The old adage that the pen is mightier than the sword is certainly true. Swamp the desk of your local newspapers, school boards, county councils, and every other elected office up to and including the President of the United States, with letters (written in love!) stating your disgust with the direction that political correctness has taken us as a people of God.

And remember to vote out all incumbents!

*Our “Republic” derives it’s authority from two sources: Revealed Law, found only in Scripture, and the Law of Nature as revealed by God through human reason and conscience. The exercise of sovereign power is lodged in representatives “elected” by the people.

On the other hand, a “Democracy” derives it’s authority from “the Will of the People”, and its sovereign power is exercised by the people. As Jerimiah the Prophet said “The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?”

Given the state of America today, which would you rather live under? We, the people, have let our God endowed rights be usurped by evil men because of two things:apathy and greed, and we must bear the full responsibility before our Creator for the consequences of so great a sin.
The good news is that it is not too late to turn this around. While we still have the right to vote, make certain that you are voting for whichever party stands for less government intervention (power) in our lives. And above all else, put America before self interests!

SOCIALISM/PROGRESSIVISM: As you read this, the American way of life stands upon the very brink of annihilation, as we are faced with the very good possibility that, if re-elected in 2012 President Barrack Obama will most certainly bring this country into an extreme form of socialism (Marxism). His stated goals of federalizing the educational system (to control the minds of the children), and building a massive civilian security force that will surpass our armed forces in strength is bone chilling to consider and smacks of the early days of the Nazi regime under Adolf Hitler.

Washington, DC is not the only place that socialism must be ferreted out, our work begins at the grass roots levels where Socialism or Progressivism has taken root in our city and county governments. We must target the incumbents in every office each and every election cycle, and impose a voter mandated term limitation on every elected official in every office across this nation.

During his 1945 election campaign Churchill stated that: “…a socialist policy is abhorrent to the British ideas of freedom. Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the object worship of the state. It will prescribe for every one where they are to work, what they are to work at, where they may go and what they may say. Socialism is an attack on the right to breathe freely. No socialist system can be established without a political police. They would have to fall back on some form of Gestapo, no doubt very humanely directed in the first instance.”

The same “socialist policy” referred to by Winston Churchill is just as abhorrent to the free Americans that refuse to be enslaved by the unconstitutional over reaches of a federal government run amok. You might ask “what can we do to help restore our way of life?” My answer is that you need to get involved in your local government selection. Make this the last time that you sit out an election of City Councilmen. Vote against every incumbent no matter what their record. These are the folks that move on to larger political aspirations after making our lives miserable in the local arenas by the imposition of higher taxes and ever more restrictive statutes to solidify their power grabs.
